Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!
Hello. You delectable taste bud, you. You delicious seeker of flavor and tasty dish, you. You joyful reader of recipe books as novels; You main character energy baking bish, you. You sweet-salty-tart layer cake of life, you.
This is for you the Bon Vivants, culinary fantasists, it is for the flavor bound. The lovers of juicy tales and satisfying bites.
Grab a drink, take a nibble, or just deeply inhale; let’s share some tasty tidbits and multi-flavored dish.
Food is life. That’s my POV. I’m constantly thinking about, preparing, and then writing about food. It continued with a glut of recipe articles and then a monthly cooking column, which eventually inspired my family-style cookbook: Get Cooking, published in 2012, features holiday and celebration menus with a Jewish-American twist.
Culinary-themed jobs I’ve had: Cooking class instructor, cooking demonstrant, caterer, brand ambassador, I even had a stint as an avo-toasterista. At the same time I was a Chocolatier-in-disguise, with the nom de plume RoxyChocsmith. purveyor of small batch chocolate truffles.
Through my public cooking and private eating a universal culinary language was discovered. Like Love and Money, Food affects everyone. It is integral to rituals and celebrations, and not to mention people are nice when you feed them.
Somewhere along the way, after much trial and error and success RoxyChocsmith developed a persona: The Chocolate Handmaiden assuredly spun into RoxyChox. And like combining ingredients in a bowl, a story came together.
As the recipes developed, so did a complex heroine, who was a sweet-tart-salty trifecta. For this multicourse feast I whipped up a saucy sidekick, threw in few spicy characters, and folded in an unsavory one for nuance, and poof! RoxyChox’s world was created. She starts her flavor journey in a black and white retro tiled Jersey kitchen and ends on a dazzling Manhattan rooftop - the moon shining fully on her destiny as a Celebrationist icon!
